Iranian Order of Battle

Apropos of Lubber's thoughtful post, does anyone know or have the order of battle for the Iranian Navy? I'm particularly interested in their sub force, of course, but would like to get a better picture of what our boats might be up against in the near future.

Thanks in advance! ...and if you haven't checked-out Lubber's post, be sure to do so--perhaps we can have a discussion here?

In fact, if there are several of you who have expertise in littoral ops/warfare, the Iranian fleet, counter-diesel tactics, etc. then perhaps we should hold a kind of on-line "academic conference"--basically a day or two of focused postings on a narrow set of topics.

What do you think?

WS, interesting posts. Our military took Baghdad with minimal losses in record time without Saddam's actual order of battle.

We cannot expect to have Iran's actual, naval OOB, either, in my opinion, nor is it necessary.

Since Iran's submarine fleet -the Kilos, minis and other homemades, do not possess enough stealth to hide from sensors (already in place), all can be neutralized in minutes (by appropriate aircraft), if and when necessary.

The solution to the Iran problem does not require a war. The accidental crash of one airplane carrying President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would end the current madness.

The questions coming to mind, then:

What is Ahmadinejad's order of travel?

How sound is Iran's aircraft maintenance program?
